
The exhaust manifold, TC and inlet pipe are connected with bolts on flanges. The fastening elements for the exhaust system (Fig. 6.19) are threaded connections, clamps, retaining rings and rubber-metal hinges, which must be replaced each time the system as a whole is disassembled or its individual elements are replaced.

The catalytic converter used (1) is a so-called three-component catalytic converter based on rare earth metals. Due to their presence, oxidation of carbon oxides (CO) and hydrocarbons (HC) occurs, and the concentration of nitrogen oxides (NOx) is reduced.
