Attention! To avoid burns from vapors, all work must be performed only on a cold engine.
The engine vacuum pump must be replaced in the following order. Remove the fan casing and soundproof casing. For engines with an EGR cooler, disconnect the pipe between the EGR cooler and the EGR valve. For engines without an EGR cooler, disconnect the EGR pipe.
Remove the screw and disconnect the vacuum hose (7, see Fig. 6.17) from the vacuum pump. Unscrew the bolts (3) and remove the vacuum pump (1).
The vacuum pump should be installed in the reverse order, replacing the sealing ring (2) of the vacuum hose (8), having first applied a thin layer of grease to facilitate sliding.
Replace the mounting bolts and apply a sealant such as "Drei-Bond-1209", if it is not applied by the manufacturer. Replace the sealing ring (1, Fig. 6.91) on the pump body, having first applied a thin layer of grease to facilitate sliding. Install the vacuum pump leash (2) relative to the grooves on the camshaft drive sprocket.
Note: The camshaft sprocket mounting bolt has a vacuum pump lubrication hole that must be kept clean.
Assemble the engine and check the vacuum system for leaks.
