Lightly press the brake pedal and fix it in this position using a wooden block or a special tool (see fig. 11.3). When opening the brake lines, this will prevent air from entering the brake system and leakage of brake fluid from the reservoir.
Disconnect the brake hose from the pipeline and plug the holes formed with plastic plugs. On the left wheel, disconnect the AL of the brake pad wear sensor. Loosen the caliper mounting bolts (1, fig. 11.16) and remove it from the steering knuckle moving forward.
Features of mounting the rear wheel caliper are shown in Figure 11.17.
The installation of the front brake caliper on the car should be carried out in the reverse order, while it is necessary. Install the brake hose without tension on the caliper and pipeline, and tighten its fitting to 14 Nm (1.4 kgf·m), making sure that the hose is not kinked.
Check the completeness of the fastening of the AL fastening of the brake lining wear sensor. Set the steering to a position corresponding to the rectilinear movement of the car.
Degrease the contact surface of the caliper and steering knuckle. Install the caliper in place and insert the bolts, lightly lubricated with engine oil. Tighten the front caliper mounting bolts to a torque of 110 Nm (11.0 kgf·m), tighten the rear caliper mounting bolts to a torque of 65 Nm (6.5 kgf·m).
Check the laying and fastening of the brake pad wear sensor cable. Make sure that the dust cap of the brake bleeder valve is securely fixed. Eliminate friction of the cable on the wheel disk. Upon completion of work, bleed the brake system.
