Replacing the air conditioning compressor drive belt (BMW X5 E53)

            0

The poly V-belt of the air conditioning compressor drive is changed under the same circumstances as the alternator drive belt.

Note: If the drive belt is to be used in the future, it is necessary to mark its direction of movement and reinstall it in the same direction.

The air conditioner compressor drive belt must be removed in the following order. Prepare the "61.1.040" and "11.3.340" tools and remove the alternator drive belt. Remove the engine crankcase protection panel. Turn the engine crankshaft by the central bolt in the direction of engine rotation.

Remove the drive belt at the same time (1, Fig. 5.91) using a clean cloth (2) moving forward in the direction indicated by the arrow.

The drive belt must be installed in the following order.

When installing the belt, make sure that it fits tightly into the grooves (grooves) of the pulleys, remove the device "64.1.040". The tension force is not adjusted by the roller, it automatically sets the required tension force of the compressor drive belt. Install the removed parts and units on the car.
