The braking system is one of the most important safety systems of the car, therefore all work on it must be carried out especially carefully and taking into account the rules set out below:

  • remove traces of dust with a damp cloth or vacuum cleaner;
  • prevent oils and cleaning agents from entering the brake system;
  • thoroughly remove traces of cleaning agents and oils;
  • brake pads should be replaced simultaneously on one axle;
  • prevent contact of brake linings with oils and lubricants;
  • brake pads should be installed with the movement reference (arrows) in the direction of rotation of the brake disc and in accordance with the sides of the car ("Links/ Rechts", "Left/Right");
  • before installing new parts, thoroughly de-preserve them;
  • all moving parts of the caliper must move easily;
  • pipes and hoses must be laid in such a way as to prevent them from rubbing against the body or other elements;
  • threaded connections of pipelines (fittings) should be loosened / tightened with special keys, with a torque of 17–19 N·m (1.7–1.9 kgf·m);
  • open holes on parts, hoses and pipelines should be plugged:
  • observe tightening torques for threaded connections;
  • before dismantling pipeline lines, they must be marked;
  • change brake fluid every two years;
  • after completing the work, it is necessary to check the tightness of the brake system, bleed it and restore the brake fluid level.
