The replacement of the fan and the viscous fan clutch must be carried out in the following order. Prepare fixtures «11.5.030» And «11.5.040». Loosen the screws securing the fan shroud and remove it.
Attachment 11.5.030 | Attachment 11.5.040 |
Holding the pulley from turning with a tool «11.5.030», using fixture «11.5.040», loosen the union nut (M32) coolant pump, left hand nut thread. When loosening the nut, you can hold the coolant pump shaft by compressing the V-ribbed belt of its drive, which ensures that the hub is kept from rotating.
After loosening the nut, unscrew it completely by holding it with a wrench and turning the impeller. Make sure that the impeller does not fall. If necessary, you can disconnect the impeller from the viscous coupling by unscrewing the bolts (3, M6 - 3 pcs.) its fastenings on the reverse side of the coupling.
When installing the fan and its clutch, it is necessary to tighten the bolts of the fan impeller to the viscous clutch with a torque of 10 Nm (1.0 kgf·m).
Attention! When using the device «11.5.040» with a torque wrench, a reading of 30 Nm on the scale of the wrench corresponds to a value of 40 Nm of the actual tightening torque.
Using fixture «11.5.040», tighten the fan fastening nut to the coolant pump hub to 40 Nm (4.0 kgf·m). Make sure that when installing the fan shroud with the fan, the lower shroud fastening straps fit into the lugs on the radiator. Damaged clips or pins should be replaced.
