When inspecting the clutch release hydraulic drive, it is necessary to make sure that the clutch pedal (1) moves freely on the bushings (3) of the hinge, does not contact the side surface of the bracket (14) and, thanks to the return spring (9), takes its original position. Otherwise, increased wear of the clutch driven disk linings occurs. One of the reasons for the clutch pedal not returning to its original position may be:
- incorrectly installed clutch pedal fork head;
- presence of air in the hydraulic drive system;
- pedal sticking on the axle;
- wear of the return spring.
The inner diameter of the working cylinder is 22.20 mm, the piston stroke is 23 mm. The reservoir of the clutch release hydraulic drive is common with the brake system hydraulic drive.
The hydraulic fluid used in the clutch drive system is technical fluid type SAE J 1703 DOT 4 (Duckhams Universal Brake und Clutch Fluid).
Certified liquids are:
- BMW Bremsfbssigkeit, DOT4;
- Castrol Disc Brake Fluid, DOT4;
- Castrol GT LMA, DOT4;
- ITT Original-ATE-DOT4, SL;
- Pentosin Tyr 9368, DOT4;
- Shell Brake Fluid, DOT4;
- Union Carbide Emkadixol 460, DOT4;
- Veedol Disc Brake Fluid, DOT4.
The frequency of fluid replacement is every two years, regardless of the vehicle mileage.
