When inspecting the clutch release hydraulic drive, make sure that the clutch pedal is (1) freely mixed on bushings (3) hinge, not in contact with the side surface of the bracket (14) and thanks to the return spring (9), takes its original position. Otherwise, there is increased wear on the lining of the clutch disc. One of the reasons for the failure of the clutch pedal to return to its original position may be:
- incorrectly installed clutch pedal fork head;
- the presence of air in the hydraulic drive system;
- pedal jamming on the axle;
- return spring wear.
The inner diameter of the working cylinder is 22.20 mm, the piston stroke is 23 mm. The hydraulic clutch release reservoir is common with the hydraulic brake system.
The hydraulic fluid used in the clutch drive system is SAE J 1703 DOT 4 type service fluid (Duckhams Universal Brake und Clutch Fluid).
Certified fluids are:
- BMW Bremsfbssigkeit, DOT4;
- Castrol Disc Brake Fluid, DOT4;
- Castrol GT LMA, DOT4;
- ITT Original-ATE-DOT4, SL;
- Pentosin Tyr 9368, DOT4;
- Shell Brake Fluid, DOT4;
- Union Carbide Emkadixol 460, DOT4;
- Veedol Disc Brake Fluid, DOT4.
Fluid change interval every two years, regardless of vehicle mileage.
