Remove cylinder head and cylinder head gasket (pic. 6.43). Using alcohol, clean the sealing surfaces of the head and cylinder block from gasket residue.
The thickness of the gasket is determined by the number of marking holes (1 to 3). Using compressed air (2.0 bar), clean all blind threaded holes from contamination due to the risk of cracking. Use the cylinder head gasket with the same marking (1, fig. 6.44), by the number of holes.
Attention! If the work being carried out can cause a change in the amount of protrusion of the piston crowns, then the thickness of the cylinder head seal must be re-determined.
During installation, the joints between the timing case cover and the cylinder block are sealed with standard adhesive strips (arrows). It is not necessary to apply sealant in these places. Assemble the engine.
