Removing both left solenoid valves (EMC) on the side of cylinders 5-8 must be carried out in the following order. Read information from the fault memory of the CMCD. Switch off the ignition. Remove decorative cover. Unlock and disconnect the hose at the fuel tank vent valve.
EMC (1, fig. 5.144) controls the intake actuator, EMK (2) manages the release execution node. Unlock and disconnect plug connection (ShS) EMC (1 and 2). Loosen the bolts and remove the holders (3) and take out the EMC (1 and 2).
When installing, check the holders (3) for deformation, replace the holders if necessary. Clean sealing surfaces on cylinder head.
Replace O-rings (1 and 2, fig. 5.145) round section on the solenoid valve (3) and lubricate them with engine oil. Press EMK in until it stops.
Pay attention to the correct position of the installed holders (3, see fig. 5.144), insert and tighten the bolts.
Read information from the memory of malfunctions of the ECU KSUD (integrated engine management system - DME). Check the received fault records, eliminate them and erase the information from the fault memory.
Both right hand solenoid valves on cylinder bank 1-4 should be replaced in the same way. In this case, the upper part of the air filter housing must be removed together with the air mass meter and the suction hose.
