Attention! The role of the engine flywheel on a power unit with automatic transmission is played by a drive disk, a compensating clutch and an automatic transmission torque converter.
After replacing the drive disk, the position of the crankshaft speed sensor must be re-adjusted.
Removing the automatic transmission drive disk should be carried out according to the technological sequence similar to that for the engine «M54», while to block it, use the device «11.2.070».
Loosen the fixing screws (9 pieces, fig. 4.84).
It is recommended to unscrew and screw in the drive disk mounting bolts using the tool «11.4.180». Remove drive disk (2) with compensating clutch (1) torque converter (GT).
The position of the drive disk is fixed with a special (shortened) centering bushing. The replacement of the bushing is provided only for a branded part.
Install drive disk (2, fig. 4.85) and compensating clutch (1) torque converter.
Coupling holes (1) and drive disk (2) must match and be under each other.
Coat the threads of the new drive plate mounting bolts with engine oil and tighten them crosswise in three steps to a final torque of 105 Nm (10.5 kgf·m).
